Disgusted. Exactly the same experience as the other patient reviews. No empathy, 'therapists' robotic, reading from a script. Their main mode of treatment is a CBT website. -After waiting for 2 MONTHS - (WHY?) Like someone else has said - you can get the more information from a book, or youtube Only treat 'depression' -every other condition is done with CBT. Im no health expert, but there are usually many contributing factors which lead to depression and are concurrent with depression, and to flat-out refuse to even address these issues, let alone help with them is not acceptable. Was told ‘ I can only help with depression. everything else is cbt.’ ‘Have you heard of the samaritans’ !!! What are these peoples credentials? I know vitaminds is a private company. Does that mean they are exempt from CQC examination??

I’m really surprised at the amount of negative reviews on this site because personally I can not fault the service I have been provided with over the last few months. Yes, I had to wait three or four months for treatment, but it was hardly unexpected given the alarmingly increasing level of individuals with mental health issues today and the struggling state of the NHS. I was paired with the most wonderful trainee therapist and her support was highly professional and incredibly helpful. I entered therapy in a pretty desperate state and emerged a very different person, much calmer and with a huge understanding of how anxiety impacts massively, but is treatable and manageable. I have learnt a huge range of strategies for coping and equipped myself with some valuable tools on my journey. I can’t thank my therapist and this organisation enough for the support I’ve received and equally credit myself for the hard work I’ve put in.

Hannah really helped me when I needed it, I'm glad we were matched up because I felt the sessions worked out well. Can't speak for the other othe therapists but my experience was really great. The only downside is the sessions finish so would be good to have them continue. Ask for Hannah if you can request someone

Referred to by my GP only to be told don't offer grief counselling. Leslie Jeffrey's came across as cold and rude.

***Repost - my last review was deleted with no explanation provided?1?! I was allocated Courtney as my CBT therapist. I was really hoping my therapist, Courtney, and I would be able to forge a therapeutic relationship, where I could be vulnerable and open and learn how to manage my depression and anxiety. Unfortunately, this did not happen. It often felt like I was talking to a robot who was reading from a script. When I wanted to talk about something, that was not on her agenda it was usually shut down and/or we would quickly go back to her “agenda items”. I felt there was no genuine empathy from her, and on the few occasions where she attempted to exhibit some empathy, it come across as insincere and rigid. All in all, I would say may experience was pretty poor. I decided to abandon “therapy” half way through as it was damaging mental health further. I hope her supervisor or whoever from VitaMinds reads this, can feed this back to Courtney. Not everyone can or should work in mental health.

I wanted to post here to say that the initial assessment and contact with the service was absolutely fine. I did not move forward with Vita Minds for logistical reasons but there are two very concerning issues I want to raise. 1. All phone calls will be recorded. You can and should opt out, including during the assessment period. It is very problematic that a counselling services automatically records therapy sessions given that it is meant to be an environment in which sensitive and personal issues are discussed. This is enough to never use the service but there is more. 2. Vita Minds are a private company contracted by the NHS but owned by Archimed, a French investment firm. They have access to our NHS data, including when our next NHS appointment is and our whole NHS history. This is a significant problem since Vita Minds is not held to the same accountability measures as NHS services and is a for-profit business. They may be subject to data protection laws but I would not trust a for-profit business with my medical history or well being. Having spent time in the US I have had first hand experience of what for-profit health care looks like. It is ugly, motivated by greed, inhumane and abusive. Our medical history and private information should not be up for sale but with Vita Minds it clearly is. For this simply they get 1 star. I would give no stars if I could.

Utterly pointless, I can't access their services and there are no other options. They're the only provider in my area, literally locking out ALL other services and are incapable/refuse to meet my needs. Discriminating against me and denying me access to any Mental Health Care. Emails are pointless, they just don't want to know. What am I supposed to do now?

As an accredited psychotherapist accessing support is a particularly difficult decision. Unfortunately this service isn’t fit for purpose. The initial assessment is conducted by trainees ill equipped to manage client need, insufficient care taken with safe guarding and complex early years trauma disregarded as untreatable with no signposting to appropriate services. Leicestershire & Rutland deserve a comprehensive mental health service with the ability to support the population.
