Dreadful, a shadow of its former self. Wanted a bracelet repaired, after the person serving in the shop had been upstairs to speak to a jeweller several times we asked if we could speak to them directly rather than through a third person. The person serving went upstairs again to ask. The reply came back "They don't come downstairs to see customers"!! Result we went elsewhere with a far better result. Clearly the jeweller can't get off their Ar** and speak to customers. My advice go else where these folks don't deserve your custom. UPDATE To be clear, I was certainly not rude to the young assistant as the poor service was not her fault, although well done trying to deflect from the issue raised. What a shame you do not spend as much time as this rubbish took to concoct to serve customers. My family have been using Carters since the 1970s but not any more. My original comment remains accurate but sadly the response does not!

Absolutely lovely & knowledgeable staff. I had my engagement ring resized here and there’s simply no one else I’d trust in Salisbury. It came back a new ring. Sparkly, clean and absolutely dazzling. The lady who served us was so proud of her job it made me proud of the store. Pricing was reasonable for a trusted service. Would not hesitate to use again.

Such a beautiful shop with a fabulous selection of jewellery and silverware. The staff are polite and extremely helpful and gave me as much time as I needed to select the right piece for me! Absolutely would recommend a very different experience from a main stream store.

I am overjoyed with excellent service from W Carter and Son. After shopping around to get my grandfather's old signet ring re-engraved I was told by too many places that it couldn't be done. Luckily I came to Carters and was helped by Anna, who has exceeded all expectations. Not only did they get the engraving looking clear again, but the ring came back shining and looking brand new. A massive thank you to everyone at Carters, couldn't be more chuffed!

I was looking for a jeweller in Salisbury for a special occasion, but from looking at the reviews I will not be using carter and son. Your reply to Jo Williamson was just plain rude and ignored the important key points in her review. I agree with Jo that 2 rings is a coincidence and it’s more than likely down to your workmanship. I think you should work on your customer service skills as you’ve now lost a customer due to it. Hope others look at the reviews before using.

I had two rings made by carters using sentimental diamonds and both rings have suffered losses. I would not advise anybody to use them for making up jewellery if you are wanting to use valuable or sentimental items. It's too much of a coincidence that it has happened to both rings. I am so dissapointed as I have not been offered any recompense for my losses. I would not be able to recommend or use them again myself.
