Walker fire have basically tried to rip me off! Walker Fire took over from Lune Fire and serviced my equipment last year and this year. The cost last year was just over £70 but this year they have increased some of their costs by 400% and invoiced me nearly £350 for the same service plus re-charging two other extinguishers. When i have questioned the cost, which is more that it would be to replace all of my extinguishers with brand new ones, they have explained that without notice they moved my account onto the 'highest possible charging rate'. They would reduce the invoice but only is we agree to a three year contract??? They new well in advance of the visit that their charges would be extortionate but chose not to advise of this and present an invoice for £345.47. We could have had the work completed for less that £150 inc vat, we have offered them a settlement of £200 inc vat but now they wish to take legal action on a rip off invoice. This company will try and invoice you for as much as they possibly can so shop around and avoid this company at all costs
