When I was a child, we had a John Lewis in Leeds, housed in a beautiful 1910's building. It held every delight you could wish for. It was undoubtedly my mother's favourite shop-lifting venue. (Just once, it was some posh tinsel and Christmas can be a very stressful time.) My objective today was to buy a watch. There was a wide price range, from £190 to £290...... When I asked the young man who had pushed past me to position himself behind the counter about other options, there were none. I'm giving this shopping experience three stars, but only because the assistant who helped me in haberdashery was so pleasant.

This is the place to go when you're in Leeds and have a bit of extra cash. Fantastic at Christmas. Oodles of variety, from different brands of clothing, to living room furniture, to food etc. Bit pricey as expected, but I am sure they often do sales and reductions etc. The only negative aspect of such a place is that it's constantly busy so you won't really ever find a nice quiet day to just browse in peace & quiet, but then what do you expect in a city centre shopping complex. There are many levels, so you need to catch the lift sometimes. Plenty of parking too. Lots of staff around to ask questions if you need to.
