The pharmacy has inconsistent hours, with a high chance of the pharmacist being “on lunch” between the hours of 11-3pm. I absolutely understand that staff need to take a lunch break, however no effort is made to communicate this to customers and it is never consistent but could be anywhere in almost a 4 hour period. I used to be able to pick things up perfectly fine, but lately they’ve either cut down on staff pharmacists or just stopped communicating properly. The pharmacy staff woman with a dark bob haircut (who has been mentioned in other reviews) is particularly unpleasant and unhelpful. I can’t believe the largest Boots in the city is unable to consistently have a pharmacist available for the majority of a weekday. I’m switching back to Monk Bar pharmacy even though it’s a lot further away from my house because I’m sick of never being able to get my prescriptions at a reasonable time.

I normally don't leave bad reviews but I just have to write about this. The lady at the till maybe in her 40s with glasses and dark hair made me feel so unwelcomed. I've asked her to check if an item was available in the store (buy 2 for 3) she checked and it was all gone. I've asked her if she could order them online for me so I can come and pick it up but she said with a firm NO she can't order them online and then paused, with an awkward silence and deadly stare. Just felt like it was a burden to asked of her because last month another lady from the till ordered it for me just fine. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful but just this one lady who made me feel like I've done something wrong.

Always very helpful here. The prescription and medicine counter waiting times are usually minimal and the shop on the whole has a huge amount of stock of all things you would expect in boots. Shout out to Conie (spelling?) for being very helpful and friendly

Some things never change in York. Boots having inadequate staffed tills and self-service machines is one. Turning heating on when the temperature outside is fine is great for the environment too. The Earth loves Boots customers!
