The company was more expensive than other damp proofing firms. I chose them because beyond any of the other firms, their initial inspection was way more thorough and responsive to my questions. The work on this 1950s semi-detached home was extensive, covering much of the ground floor. The team worked within the predicted time, prepping everywhere with meticulous floor covering and taped-up screens to limit the ingress of plaster dust to the kitchen. The work progressed as advised and was done efficiently and professionally. The team were courteous, focused and respectful of my home. They revealed rotting and infested skirting board which, at the end and for a cost, they replaced. the final finish of the top plaster is a wonderful sight. I have only praise for the team, for their work (and careful tidying up) and their respect both for my property and myself. I would cheerfully recommend Allerton Damp Proofing to friends or enquirers. No reservations. All this company want to do is stick a plaster on the problem. We had damp on one of our walls and had no idea what was causing it, so we got Allerton round to have a look, he wasn't interested in me telling him how and when the patches have appeared, all he wanted to do was rip all the walls on that side of the room apart, stick a membrane on it and plaster over it. He also got his damp meter out and said the other half of the room needed doing aswell, which it didn't. We did agree, however, to have the work done, we paid a deposit and 2 weeks before the work they asked for all the money up front. No way are we taking a risk like that, the company could go bang and we would lose all our money. The golden rule is, you NEVER pay for work before it is completed. We cancelled the work, lost our deposit of over £1K, but have since found a small local company, who have actually investigated what the problem is and the work has been carried out accordingly, at a fraction of the price.

Me and my partner cannot recommend Allerton enough. From day 1 they were professional and the level of communication from the start of the job to the final day was exceptional. Constant messages asking questions and for reassurance. A great Company for all damp proofing works but also for the additional works aswell, like plastering, boarding, electrics etc. Any exemplary Company to have do any work in your house, I wish all Contractors were like Allerton. Do not use unqualified kitchen and bathroom fitters . They don’t use proper reviews. I can prove everything that they did wrong at my house. Project manager didn’t want to know. Cowboy shoddy work doesn’t look professional. Cracks in all walls not plastered correctly. No one knew what they were doing different people everyday. That’s when they turned up . Five months of hell with them . Now left with house that they ruined. I will keep telling people what they are like . So nobody else gets the treatment I did . Avoid Services: Plumbing, Flooring
